Ms. Shari Franjevic operates a Green Chemistry and Sustainable Design consulting firm in the greater Seattle area.
She partners with clients and leads diverse collaborative teams to deliver pragmatic tools that support the transition to safer chemistry.
In her current partnership with Clean Production Action, she co-leads the development of version 2.0 of the Green Screen for Safer
Chemicals, an alternative assessment tool to inform material selection. She also co-facilitates the Business-NGO Sustainable
Materials Working Group whose current focus is to develop criteria for sustainable plastics. Shari recently completed a multi-year
partnership with the USEPA Design for the Environment program resulting in the release of three criteria documents defining
"best in class" chemicals.
Shari assists in facilitation training and is skilled at coaching students on the finer points of group interaction.
Her technical skills and strong belief in collaborative solutions for difficult problems combine into the perfect union for developing
creative and sustainable agreements among diverse groups.
Shari began her career in industry, where she led research and design projects for consumer product giants including Procter & Gamble,
Frito-Lay, General Mills, and 3M in diverse product categories including specialty chemicals, laundry detergents, foods, textiles, and
sand paper. In her transition to an environmentally focused career, she worked as an environmental Educator at Wilderness Awareness
School before starting her own consulting firm. Shari earned her Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
